Khan to fight Maidana on Hopkins/Jones Jnr undercard

AMIR KHAN will make his American debut on the undercard of Bernard Hopkins’ bout against Roy Jones Jnr in Las Vegas on April 17.

Khan will defend his WBA world light-welterweight title against Marcos Maidana at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino, according to reports.

The Bolton-born fighter split with promoter Frank Warren to join up with Golden Boy Promotions in America in order to “continue my career as an elite fighter and to expand my fan base to the United States and around the world”.

Khan added: “I’m ready to fight anyone, anywhere, anytime and know that Golden Boy will help me accomplish these goals.”
